Alabama English Bulldog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to rehabilitate and re-home abused, neglected and unwanted purebred English Bulldogs. Also, we provide a safe alternative to shelters for owners who are confronted with the decision to find a new home for their English Bulldogs.

OUR MISSION: Have you ever really known a Bulldog? Comedians, lazy, playful, sluggish, unamused looking, hilarious, forgiving, curious, emotional, cuddly, clown-like. These words can be used to describe this fantastic breed. It’s what attracts so many dog lovers. However, in addition to their perplexing personalities, most English Bulldogs need very specialized medical attention. Some never get what they need. Many others need extensive and expensive surgeries, treatments and lifelong medication or diets. Owners may not always have the ability to provide a bulldog’s special needs, while others just can’t find a place in their life for the bullie they have. In either case, Alabama English Bulldog Rescue (ALEBR) is solely committed to coordinating a safe rescue and careful placement of each surrendered or homeless rescue bullie in every way possible by the organization and its supporters & volunteers.

Once you complete an application and get approved, bookmark our website for available bulldogs and updates. All adoption applications go through a careful screening & interview process, so please bear in mind that not all dogs listed now may be be available at the time that your application is processed or approved. So it is important that if you are serious about adopting, that you begin your application soon, if you are truly interested in becoming a Forever Family.
HOW CAN YOU HELP A BULLDOG?
As any animal rescue, the volunteers are the core of Alabama English Bulldog Rescue . We need dedicated, responsible and caring bulldog lovers that could help with any of the following:
- Adoption application screening &processing
- Home visits
- Foster parenting
- Medical/Veterinary transportation
- Rescue & surrender transport
- Meet & Greet and Outreach set up
- Fundraiser coordinator
- Public Awareness/Special Events committees

Also type a few sentences to let us know a little about yourself, how you can help out and indicate which of the above you may be interested in helping ALEBR. CAN’T VOLUNTEER? That’s ok…
Maybe you have a full house of Bulldogs and just cannot adopt anymore. Or possibly you are unable to attend events or outtings. But could you consider sponsoring a special bully in medical need? Or simply make a one-time donation of any nominal amount to help pay for one bag of food or medical treatment?
Just like any other non-profit organization, our efforts are all for the good of the breed-English Bulldogs, but we can’t do it without its volunteers and financial supporters like YOU! Contact us to sponsor an English Bulldog in need or make a donation in memory of your “passed-on” bulldog to carry on in their name.
